The Northern Banks is located in Massachusetts in a small town called Ipswich, which is located in Essex County in northeastern Massachusetts, about 30 miles northeast of Boston. Ipswich is approximately 33 square miles of rolling topography, forests, fields, farmland, marshes, dunes, and beaches.

Ipswich is home to popular destinations such as Crane's Beach, which has been noted as "one of the most beautifully scenic beaches in all New England.

Another place in Ipswich you can't miss out on is Castle Hill, a 59-room Stuart style mansion designed by David Adler and built in 1927 by Chicago industrialist Richard Crane with some of the best views around.  Castle Hill was the place in which the movie "Flowers In the Attic" was filmed.

For all you golf lovers, Ipswich has Turner Hill, which in 2005 was ranked "One of the 10 Best New Private Courses in the U.S." by Travel + Leisure.  The par 72 course preserves and promotes the area’s breathtaking, natural surroundings offering a balance of dramatic and challenging play. Featuring a practice facility, spectacular vista and elevation changes, wide fairways, generous green complexes and sparkling white bunkers throughout the century-old landscape.
